In 2003, Sgt. Tomko was serving as a door gunner on Baghdad night patrol when he was shot and killed by enemy fire. As part of the sport-wide NASCAR® Salutes program, Ally and the Hendrick Motorsports No. 48 team will honor Sgt. Tomko’s sacrifice with this patriotic livery that features his name and rank on the hood.
